My Korea Trip (part 3)

I'm back with part 3... I'm so busy these days that makes me delay on updating my trip story. I'm so sorry... 요즘 제가 너무 바빠서 이 이야기를 늦어서 미안해요~ ㅠ_ㅠ

In this part, I'll write on my journey on my third day in Korea. The day started when we get back from Busan to Seoul by the fastest train in Korea, KTX.

The journey took about 3 hours from 10.30AM to 1.30PM when we arrived in Seoul Station. As we are back in Seoul on Monday, the station was really crowd of people. Upon arriving, me n my friends need to find the office of Naminara Republic as we need to pay the Nami Island shuttle bus reservation fee on that day. We asked the information centre on how we can go there. It's actually in Insadong. So after that, we rush back to the subway and went to Jongno 3 station to reach the office. Once we there, we took our time to relax and go back to the guest house that we stay from the first day.

Around 4PM, we departed to Namsan Tower or Seoul Tower as people might say it. We went there by taking subway to Myeongdong station by exit 2. From there, we walked for about 20 minutes to reach at the cable car. At first, we thought the road just a bit steep from what we asked someone that know how to go there but it's actually tiring because it's like we have to climb a hill.

Once we reached, all of us feel so relieved that we were at the cable car. We bought the 'Round trip ticket' which just cost around KRW 8,000 because the price for one trip ticket is KRW 6,000. The view from cable car was so beautiful.

Once we reach Seoul Tower area, we went straight away to the place where couples lock their love with padlock. You can see thousands of padlocks were there with so many shape.

After that, we go inside Teddy Bear Museum. I'm so excited as I can see a lot of cute teddy bears with their own characters from ancient times to today.

We continue our third day to Myeongdong, the heaven of cosmetics, branded clothes and KPOP merchandise. The place is very near to Seoul Tower.

After shopping in Myongdong, we were starving for food so we went to Shindangdong where it's famous for their Spicy Rice Cake. The place also called as 'Shindangdong Tteokbokki Town' (Shindangdong Spicy Rice Cake Town). I'm so excited because this is where my favourite couple from We Got Married, Yongseo couple went to on their first and last episode.

Korea Trip (Part 2)

Hi guys!!!
I'm back with second part of my trip story...

First of all, let me clear things up since I was so rushing when I posted the first part. We went there for a week from 5th - 12th May 2012. The journey was awesome!!

The interesting places that me and my friends go in Korea:

Seoul

  • Gyeongbok Palace
  • Jongno
  • Myeongdong
  • Dongdaemun Market
  • Namdaemun Market
  • Hongdae (3D Trick Eye Museum)
  • Itaewon (Seoul Mosque)
  • Insadong
  • Tapgol Park

Outside Seoul

  • Busan
  • Nami Island
  • Everland

Ok, back to the story. We were all so excited when we landed at Incheon International Airport for the first time. We reached Incheon at 6.30AM KST which mean 5.30AM Malaysian time. Once we passed the immigration checking, we look for a rental phone that will be use along our stay in Korea. It's easier for us to contact local number since we are using theirs too. We bought the airport bus ticket to go to our guest house in Seoul which is in Shinseoldong. My teacher said we could also go there buy subway but since all of us bring big bag so we choose to take a bus.

Once we reach at Shinseoldong area, we lost as we couldn't find the right place of our guest house. But luckily one ajussi (uncle) willing to help us. After checked in, we looked for a place to breakfast or should I say 'Brunch' as we were so hungry and the time at that time is 11AM. We are actually searching for a vegetarian restaurant which my friend said it's near to our place but when we found it, it's not what we expected. The restaurant is not a vegetarian restaurant. So because we are already inside the restaurant, we just ask them to give us any food without meat or pork because we are Muslim. We don't eat pork and drinks alcohol. At first they don't understand as they hard to understand English. One ajumma (auntie) ask us in English if it's okay for them to serve us a set of rice with side dishes made of fish and seafood. I replied back in Korean saying that we will take the set if it's not with any meat. It just cost about KRW 8000 for each person. The food was delicious and so many we couldn't finish it.

The special rice set with beans

So many side dishes!!! Delicious~

We manage to finish our lunch one hour later as we slow down and feel so full at that time. Around thirty minutes later, we took subway from Shinseoldong station to Gyeongbok Palace. This place is one of the famous palace in Korea.

Beautiful scenery of Gyeongbok Goong Park

We finish our first day with walking around Gyeongbok Palace and along side of Cheonggyecheon Stream.   The day was so hectic and went we back to our guest house, we just rest and sleep after that.

Our second day, woke up early in the morning because we had to catch the bus which will departed at 8AM to go to Busan. It takes 6 hours journey and during the way, the bus stop at R&R place two times. The picture below is when we are at Gukje market and we try Sweet Rice Cake or Hotteok (호떡) for the very first time and it taste so good!!! 아줌마, 호떡을 너무 맛있어요!!!We spend our second day around Busan until night.
