Assalamualaikum and Hi everyone... it's been a long time since my last post here...

So today I would like to show you a Dim Sum restaurant situated in Kota Damansara. I had been introduced by my teacher, Ms Jane as she said this is a Halal restaurant. So I went there on Sunday in last March with my family to try out the food especially dim sum.

Here is the address:
Dim Sum Chef

Shrimp Dumpling (Must Try!!)

Stir Fried Radish Cake

The food was good and delicious even though I didn't get to try all (Can't decide since all looks yummy!). Even my mother who is not fond with Chinese food, she ordered Stir Fried Radish Cake twice!

The place also look cozy and calm but it'll be pack during peak hour especially lunch time.

안녕하세요 여러분~

For today's cooking session, I'll show you how to make Kimchi stew or Kimchi Jjigae. This is the perfect dish if you really love to enjoy kimchi. As what I know, Korean love to add pork in this stew but as a Muslim for sure I will not put pork but instead I use tuna and beef.

My favourite is with tuna so in this recipe I will share this type of kimchi stew.

First, let me introduce the ingredients.

1 cup of well fermented Kimchi
1 can of tuna
1/2 or 1 cup of kimchi water / water

spring onion to garnish
chili powder (if want more spicy)

Now, let's cook!!

  1. Heat the pot and put the oil.
  2. Put the onion and stir till it golden brown then put the kimchi and stir for a while.
  3. After that, put the can tuna in the pot and stir well.
  4. Put kimchi water / water in the pot and let it for 3-5 minutes until it boil.
  5. Put tofu inside the pot and stir a bit.
  6. Turn off the heat
  7. When serve, garnish the stew with chopped spring onion.
  8. You can add chili powder when cook the stew if you want more spicy.

Good luck and have a nice weekend~

Korean Cooking Session - Spicy Rice Cake (떡볶이 Ddeokbokki)

Hi guys~
Long time no see here..

As so many request from my friends, so I decide to share with you guys this Korean snack recipe called 'Ddeokbokki' or Spicy Rice Cake.

Let me introduce the ingredients first.

We need;
3 cups of water
5-10 anchovies
2-3 tbs chili paste
2-3 tbs sugar
1/2 packet of  rice cake
Fish cake
Sausage
Spring onion
Sesame seed (to sprinkle)

Okay now we go to how to do it;

1. Heat the water with anchovies until it boil. Take out the anchovies and let aside.
2. Put the chili paste and stir it till it blend.
3. Put sugar and stir well. Let it heat for a while.
4. Put the rice cake inside. Stir and wait till the rice cake soft and the gravy is thick.
5. Cut the fish cake and sausage and put together and stir well.
6. Cut the spring onion to the size according to your taste. Put inside.
7. Stir well and let it cook for a while for about 5-10 minutes.
8. Serve on plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

* Some of you might found ready made Ddeokbokki sauce/paste when you visit Korean store but for me better do it yourself.

* For Ddeokbokki, make sure you use the right size of rice cake as Rice Cake Soup will use different size of rice cake. Some will be in long shape and you have to cut it first before you cook it.

* For chili paste, it according to your taste. If you want it to be more spicy then add more. If you like sweet and spicy, put more sugar.

Enjoy the recipe and let me know if you guys have some trouble with it by comment it here!

Wait for my next cooking session post~
